美國各大電視台預測，共和黨將繼續掌控聯邦眾議院，同時也邁向保住聯邦參議院多數，若川普贏得總統大位過濾器 光頭水，共和黨有望完全執政。

國會方面，眾議院四三五席全面改選，路透社引述多家電視台報導，共和黨一如分析家普遍預期，將繼續掌控眾院。根據CNN網站，共和黨暫以二二四席遙遙領先民主黨一六一席。

參院方面，CNN網站顯示，共和黨目前共計四十八席，微幅領先民主黨四十六席，仍有六席尚未確定。
